Mother Of Dragons In Talks To Play The Mother Of John Connor

 

Deadline:  I’m hearing that Paramount and director Alan Taylor are looking closely at Emilia Clarke and Brie Larson to play the role of Sarah Connor in the Terminator reboot that is being assembled for a July, 2015 release. Both actresses have tested for the producers, and they are the frontrunners. I have heard that Clarke has an edge, and that would not be surprising. Before Taylor helmed Thor: The Dark World, he directed Clarke in HBO’s Game Of Thrones. She, of course, plays the unforgettable dragon-commanding heroine Daenerys Targaryen in that massive HBO series, and has demonstrated the mettle to capably play one of the screen’s most formidable heroines as originated by Linda Hamilton in James Cameron’s first two films in the series.

Brie Larson can fuck right off.  Yes she’s a talented beautiful young actress but this game is so rigged it’s not even funny.  Alan Taylor, if you don’t know, has directed 6 episodes of Game of Thrones and directors like to stick with actors they know.  It’s why Chris Nolan has Michael Cain in every one of his films.  So no offense to Brie (besides my earlier call for her to fuck off) but she has no chance.  If this happens and Clarke gets the part then we will have two Sarah Connors on Game of Thrones.  Lena Headey who plays Cersei on GOT played Sarah Connor on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.  So we would be in a unique situation where if GRRM is so inclined we could see a Connor on Connor lesbian sex scene.  I feel like the geek community would drown in cum if that happened.  I’d merely wallow in it.

I Want That Fox…Wait For It

I lost it when the camera pans left to the Millennium Falcon and that SICK ASS Fox.  That Fox might be the coolest thing to ever video/photo bomb anything.  Just straight up stole the show while these two outcasts from Deliverance were getting down on the banjo and fiddle.  I want that Fox, and not just any ol taxidermy Fox, I want THAT taxidermy Fox from these kid’s room.  I’ll pay 10 dollars for it I want it so badly.  I need to put it right on my desk next to my editing station, because I promise you I can never be as creative as I know I can be without that thing fake growling at me.  Just cutting video like you read about making the next Furry Vengeance or Alvin and the Chipmunks:The Squeakquel with that kind of dead animal inspiration.

P.S. How big of a zero does the older brother feel like getting upstaged by his younger bros??  Just left with a pity 5 seconds at the end and not happy at all about it.

OK…The King’s Speech was a solid flick, it really was.  The acting was great, I enjoyed every second of it.  Best picture? No fucking chance.  Best Director? No.  This is what I hate sometimes about the Oscars, they ride trends.  Now they don’t always do this, which is why it was great when Avatar lost to The Hurt Locker.  However, this year they were back to their old tricks.  I’m sorry, but as good as The King’s Speech was (which it was) it was about as groundbreaking as a marshmallow.  Why not just perform that movie on a stage and film it as a play? It would have been the exact same.  Which is why Inception or especially The Social Network deserved the main awards.  Christ, Nolan wasn’t even nominated for director which is a sham.  Yet, once again the safest film wins best picture…anyone reminded of Shakespeare In Love?  Fucking repeat city tonight.

The Alien Prequels Need To Get Made…Now!

These movies have been in the works for years now and in the last month there has finally been some movement into actually getting them made.  Noomi Rapace (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) has been rumored to be the female lead which is a good choice.  Alien has always been a feminine series and it needs a strong Ripley-esque lead.  My main worries for the two prequels is that Fox seems hell bent on shooting them on a budget far less than what Ridley Scott wants and they also want the films to be rated PG-13.  While I’m sure Ridley can find a way to knock 50 million or so off the budget, the idea of making the films PG-13 is UNACCEPTABLE!  Fox has a bad recent track record with the Alien Franchise.  The two Alien vs. Predator flicks were watered down bore fests and any thought of Fox trying to do the same with this project scares the shit out of me.

People have been waiting for Ridley Scott to return to the sci-fi genre since Blade Runner, and now that he’s finally decided to revisit Alien he needs to be given cart blanche.  Ridley is not a director that works very well with studio execs dictating what he can and cannot do.  Just watch his Director’s Cut version of Kingdom of Heaven, when compared to the theatrical version it’s a goddamn masterpiece.  You also have to question the studio forcing him to make Robin Hood PG-13.  Now they are trying to do it again with the Alien prequels and I hope Ridley doesn’t play ball.  He needs to keep his vision intact and the suits in their offices.

For now the ball seems to be rolling again and it’s looking more and more promising these films get made.  Lost’s Damon Lindelof is working on retooling the script and hopefully this will prove to be the work that establishes him as a legit screenwriter.  For now I remain cautiously optimistic we’ll get two R rated Alien films directed by Ridley Scott.
