In Parcells We Trust

ESPN  The Denver Broncos are trading wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins for second-round draft picks in 2010 and 2011, the Broncos announced Wednesday.  Marshall and the Dolphins reached agreement Wednesday on a four-year, $47.5 million contract extension that includes $24 million in guaranteed money, according to a league source. The deal includes close to $29 million in the first three years of the contract and makes Marshall the highest paid receiver in NFL history. Arizona’s Larry Fitzgerald previously had the richest deal of any receiver, averaging $10 million per season.

Let me be the first to say thank you to the NY Jets.  If they hadn’t gone out and gotten Santonio Holmes The Tuna would have never made this move.  Miami now has the elite WR they haven’t had since…well…really ever.  You can claim Duper and Clayton were elite but they were more effective because they made each other better.  Marshall is a no bullshit stud WR.  He comes with some baggage but with disciplinarians like Parcells and Sporano I’m not worried about it.  This is a great trade for Miami since we saw the Jets’ Holmes and raised them a Brandon Marshall…just another example of Parcells playing chess while the rest of the league is playing checkers.

P.S. This is not another T.O. to the Bills type situation…because Chad Henne isn’t whoever Buffalo’s QB of the week is.
