Fox News Is A Monster

aredeye  Fox News’ 3amET comedy/news hybrid Red Eye is in a league of its own when it comes to cable news shows. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t a player in the ratings.  Despite its late (or early, depending on your sleep habits) start time, the ratings for the show continue to improve, and surprisingly, top some cable news competition you might not expect.  Red Eye averaged 432,000 total viewers and 202,000 in the demo (25-54). Let’s deal with the demo first – CNN’s 8pmET show, hosted by Campbell Brown, averaged 191,000 in the demo. Let’s just let that one sink in – Fox News had more people in the all important A25-54 demographic watching their channel at three in the morning (east coast time) than CNN had for the show that leads off their prime time. This says as much about Fox News as it does about CNN.

It’s pretty ridiculous how much of an ass raping Fox News puts on the rest of the cable news channels.  Of the top 12 rated shows on cable news Fox has ALL 12.  That’s astounding.  And their 3 a.m. show (which is great by the way) beats the shit out of CNN’s 8 oclock prime time lead in.  It is Red Eye, the 3 a.m. show that I want to spend a minute on here.  I stumbled on the show a year ago after a night of heavy boozing and other things and have been hooked ever since, it seriously is the best show you aren’t watching.  So take a minute and set your DVRs and record an episode, tonight’s show is going to be a good one.  They have the extremely hot S.E. Cupp and the hilarious comedian Jim Norton on.  Think of it as Bill Maher for the right, without the brainwashed studio audience…anyway here is a clip to give you the feel…
